DIVING WITH BULL SHARKS
It can acclimatize to fresh and salt water, which gives him the possibility to fit in rivers such as the Zambezi River, the Tiger, the Mississippi, the Ganges or the Amazon. Along the coast of Playa del Carmen, there is the outputs of water of the cenotes. They are too small for a shark penetrates there but the constant flow of freshwater contributes to their attraction to this site.
Although renowned for its aggression and its tendency to attack, the specialized scientists believe that three criteria needed for this shark to attack: a good smell, sound and visual cues, are all indicators of their natural prey, meaning fish.
Playa del Carmen, with its warm waters and its good visibility, is one of the best sites in the world to observe the bull sharks from November to March before they migrate to the north. These elegant and beautiful creatures, females for the most part, come each year and settle down in the mangroves. Showing their presence here, along the second largest barrier reef, recognized for its unique habitats and complex-mangrove-seagrass reef. The sharks are integral parts of the life of the local fishermen, with who we are working and who are well aware of the behavior of these magnificent animals. They are curious and interested by the strange shapes that they see. They approach gently on the ground of white sand, sometimes very close… enjoy the fantastic moment and the adrenaline rush. A unique and unforgettable experience!
